Bulk Food Order Change Date

I have changed my bulk order date to September 10th. I have been extremely busy with classes, farmer’s markets, harvesting more plant material for products and family life. I will let everyone know when the bulk food order is open, hopefully around the first of August. Thank you for your patience.

Foraging Workshop July 15th, 2023

There is still room in my foraging workshop this weekend! I also have another one August 5th. You get to take home about a dozen items and more! We start the day early, forage and have lunch in the mountains. Afterward we come back to my place and make lots of fun things we foraged for. I would love to have you join us!

New Website Name!

Hello Friends!

Well some things have changed unexpectedly with the business. In the long run, I think it is going to be for the better. I have been trying to get my cottage license to bake and sell bread from my house to serve as extra income for my family. You see, I have an addiction to plants and they are not cheap!! And of course I love to bake delicious healthy bread! I soon learned that in order to have the phrase “organic” in my name I had to become certified organic as it is a form of labeling and advertising as organic. I made a decision not to go through all the red tape and change my business name instead. I feel like this gives me more freedom to do what I feel inspired to do. I chose this name because it represents my rootedness to the earth, my dedication to making high quality products and my connection to those I have various relationships with. All my products are made with 100% passion and love! So now you will see Rooted Emily as my main name as well as Sage and Sourdough (for my bread and baked goods) on the website.

I would love to have you join me for my classes and workshops. Here’s to more adventures in the high mountain dessert. I hope you can find joy in all your adventures, even if it is just taking in the full essence of tall sage brush!

Hiking Schedule 2023

It has taken me a little while to figure out my hiking schedule for the season. With all the snow I wasn’t sure if we could start in May or not, but I think we can make it work. If you are interested in joining me and have any other suggestions I am totally open to making changes too! I plan to hike around the Salt Lake and Utah county areas on Tuesday mornings after I teach a pilates class in Spanish Fork. There are a few Tuesdays I need to shop while up north and will not be hiking. My plan is to work up to more difficult hikes over time and hike Timp this year in August. Snow pack melt will be a factor as well so we may need to change things around if that is the case. Copy and paste link into the All-Trails website for more details and directions to trail heads. Please bring adequate water, food, sun protection and wear good hiking shoes. Send me a message through my contact page if you are interested in joining me!

May 18th Natural Yeast Bread Making Class

This class will be held on a week day evening for those who can’t make it on a Saturday. Come and learn about the benefits of making natural yeast breads. When we ferment our bread it breaks down harmful acids and gluten that are difficult to digest, making our bread and nutrients easier to absorb.  Class will be held at 6 PM where dinner will be served with all kinds of breads and soup to choose from!  We will discuss the science of why we use natural yeast and how to be successful in the kitchen.  You will take home your own starter so you can start making healthy bread for your family.

Please visit my events and classes tab under the shop button to sign up for the class. Space is limited. Class is held in Fairview at my home.

Website is Updated and Ready for Orders!

I have been working for weeks to update and add information to my website. As you may have noticed I have made a few changes.

You can now order through my website paying with a credit/debit card, Venmo, Pay Pal or check. I do have shipping available for my herbal products only. If you place a food order and also order herbal products at the same time they will be available at the pick up sight. I will continue to do food orders only two times a year. If you want herbal products shipped to you, you will need to order separately.

I am still adding herbal products to my website, but all the food is priced and ready to go into your cart. Please read through the directions at the top of the bulk food order tab. You will see category blocks with similar items in those areas for ordering.

I have also added other services under my shop tab, including workshops, in person services and private plant walks/foraging outings.

Feel free to reach out through my contact page if you have any questions.

Organic Flour(s) and Olive Oil Prices!

Organic Flours!

My website is under going a huge upgrade. For now you will need to order as usual by sending me a message through my contact page. Orders are due April 10th at noon.

The bread flour is Organic Artisan Bakers Craft Plus from Central Milling, a local company in northern Utah. It is a malted organic white bread flour perfect for sourdough, all-purpose baking, quick dough and laminated dough, pizza and bread. The addition to the malt increases enzymatic activity during fermentation. It produces greater yield volume without taking away from the integrity of the crumb. It also increase the depth of color of the crust. It will sell for $52.00 for a 50# bag.

I also have access to:

Organic Unbleached White Pastry flour (perfect for all pastries) – $47.60 for a 50# bag.

White Spelt flour (great substitute for all purpose flour while maintaining the rich spelt flavor) – $104.85 for a 50# bag.

100% Whole Einkorn flour – an ancient grain flour that is less problematic for those with a wheat intolerance. (great for dense breads, pan breads, short bread crusts, artisan flour blends) – $111.25 for a 50# bag.

Einkorn berries. One of the world’s oldest cultivated wheat. Spelt is also found in this family. It’s flavor is mild and nutty – $96.25 for a 50# bag.

There is a drought going on in the Mediterranean region, so unfortunately the price on the olive oil has gone up. This is the only time I will be ordering olive oil this year. Cavo D Oro is harvested and processed in Italy. All olive oils are graded in accordance with the degree of acidity they contain. This is the highest-quality oil, which is cold-pressed, a chemical-free process that involves only pressure, which produces a natural level of low acidity. Extra virgin olive oil, the cold-pressed result of the first pressing of the olives, is only 1 percent acid. It’s considered the finest and fruitiest of the olive oils and is therefore also the most expensive.

1 gallon tin – $38.32

1 case of 6 gallon tins – $220.32

April 2023 Bulk Food Order

April will be here before we know it! My food order page has been updated with products and prices. Orders are due by April 10th by noon.

I can get Guittard chocolate this time, but we do need 500 pounds to place the order and get the product. Chocolate will come in 25 pound boxes. It is a great product to go in on with someone if you don’t need that much.

Olive oil is available. I am hoping the price is the same as last year as listed on my food order page, but I won’t know until around March 17th. There is a chance the price can change, if that is the case I will let you know the difference.

Unfortunately I cannot get flour at this time.

I have recently changed my business to an LLC and will now be taking payments through Venmo @Organic-Emily. Checks will need to be written out to Organic Emily.

I can order Star-West Botanical products at a wholesale price as well as my products listed on the top of my website. Just let me know what you would like to get and I can add it to your total.

Please send a list of what you would like to order through my contact page. I will add the tax and then you can pay through Venmo or check. Please let me know if you have any questions.
